The Women's Weekend Film Challenge is a women-in-film initiative that places professional filmmakers on crews to write, shoot and edit a short film in one weekend.
The Women’s Weekend Film Challenge has two main goals:
1. To help female filmmakers network with each other so that they can hire and recommend one another in the future.
2. To tell women’s stories through film with women behind and in front of the camera.
The Women's Weekend Film Challenge is a grassroots response to the chronic underrepresentation of women in Hollywood, the harmful working environment that creates for female filmmakers and the toxic stereotypes that perpetuates in society. We are tackling the lack of representation head on by making films with women behind and in front of the camera.
